Questions, answered honestly

Does LumaSift upload my photos anywhere?

No. Every scan and analysis runs entirely on your device using Apple's PhotoKit and Vision frameworks. There is no server, no account, and no cloud upload of your media.

Will it delete my photos automatically?

Never. LumaSift only suggests. Marking an item is separate from deleting it, and nothing moves until you confirm. When you do confirm, items go to Apple's Recently Deleted, which keeps them recoverable for 30 days.

How does it decide which photo to keep?

For groups of similar shots it evaluates on-device signals: sharpness, resolution, exposure, and favorite status. It recommends a "suggested keeper" with the reason shown. You can always choose differently.

Is there a weekly subscription?

No. LumaSift only offers an annual plan ($19.99/year) or a one-time Lifetime purchase ($49.99). There is no weekly billing and no fake limited-time pressure.

What devices does it support?

iPhone and iPad running iOS/iPadOS 17 or newer. iPad includes a more deliberate split-view review workflow for duplicate and similar-photo queues.

Why are some sizes labeled "Estimated"?

PhotoKit doesn't expose an exact byte size for every asset synchronously, so LumaSift labels those values as estimated rather than overstating how much space you'll reclaim. Exact sizing is on the roadmap.
